Experience Architecture 2016

Experience Architecture is an annual public-outreach event that is developed and led by AIA architects and associate members in collaboration with our Allied members, Sustaining Partners and community organizations.

The event is designed to facilitate greater transparency with the public in how architects create our built environment and how it impacts their daily lives; to create an ongoing dialogue to inform a distinct, regional, architectural identity; and to highlight existing relationships between the region and its architecture.

The 2016 event ran from Thursday, October 20th to Sunday, October 23rd. There were two pre-events: Monday, October 10th the Celebrating Sacramento Preservation Exhibit opened in the Chapter gallery, and on Friday, October 14th, AIA led an architecture tour of the SMUD Tiny Home competition, before it opened to the general public.
