DesigNarrative Speaker Series Feat. Peter Walker, FASLA

AIA Central Valley has teamed up with ASLA California / Sierra to host the extraordinary landscape architect Peter Walker, FASLA!

Peter has exerted a significant influence on the field of landscape architecture over his six-decade career. Educated at the University of California at Berkeley and at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Walker has taught, lectured, written, and served as an advisor to numerous public agencies while executing leadership of several firms including Sasaki Walker and Associates in 1957 and Peter Walker and Partners in 1983 (now known as PWP Landscape Architecture).

With a dedicated concern for urban and environmental issues, his designs shape the landscape in a variety of geographic and cultural contexts, from the US to Asia, Australia, and Europe. His work ranges from small gardens to new cities, from urban plazas to corporate headquarters and academic campuses and include notable projects such as the 9/11 Memorial and the Jewel Changi Airport to name a couple.

He has authored several books, been featured in numerous exhibits and has received countless awards and accolades. Peter has also served as consultant and advisor to numerous public agencies and institutions including the Sydney 2000 Olympic Coordination Authority, the Redevelopment Agency of San Francisco, the Port Authority of San Diego, Stanford University, the University of California, the University of Washington and the American Academy in Rome.
