AIACV / JOHN ELLIS ARCHITECTURAL SCHOLARSHIP
The AIA Central Valley Chapter’s Emerging Professionals have established this perpetual endowed scholarship in honor of longtime (and alive and well!) member John Ellis, AIA. A scholarship in John’s name, available to students within the Chapter’s 17 county boundary, is a wonderful way to support the profession in our region, and to shape the education of our future architects.

THE WIDOM SCHOLARSHIP
The Chester and Diana Widom Architectural Education Scholarship, in honor of Paul W. Welch also known as, The Widom Scholarship, was established in 2017 by Chet Widom, FAIA, and his wife Diana Widom. This scholarship provides opportunities for community college students from California to pursue their architectural education. Scholarship recipients will receive up to $3,500 to help offset the costs of higher education in architecture and design. Awards can be used for qualified tuition and related expenses and/or to otherwise improve or enhance your capacity, skill, or talent in the field of architecture.
Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange (SRBX) Education Foundation
CREATE (Construction – Re-development – Engineering – Architecture – Trades – Education) MENTORING PROGRAM
The CREATE Mentoring Program exists to educate and inspire high school students to pursue career pathways that create the built environment. Industry professionals mentor student teams in a twelve-week competition to answer a real-world problem. Students learn about career opportunities in architecture, engineering, and the construction trades, visit local architecture and engineering offices, visit active construction job sites, attend Trades Day and compete with other regional high schools in front of industry judges.

TRADES DAY
Trades Day is designed to introduce high school youth to a variety of career opportunities in the industry including general construction, sub-contracting, suppliers, heavy equipment, engineering, and the related trades. The event also provides direct recruitment and placement opportunities for participating industry employers and trades. The goal of Trades Day is to reach more than 1,500 local high school students with nearly 70 hands-on exhibitors and demonstration areas.

CIEF SCHOLARSHIPS IN ARCHITECTURE
Founded in 1995, the CIEF Scholarships in Architecture is open to minority* students pursuing a career in Architecture and is intended to help increase the representation of minorities in the Architecture profession.
A maximum of five (5) $4,000 scholarships (new or continuing) are awarded each year to students accepted by a college with a Bachelor of Architecture or a five-year Master of Architecture program accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB – www.naab.com) to help defray tuition and expenses.

Cosumnes River College
A.S. IN ARCHITECTURE
This program offers students study and job-related experience in architectural drafting, construction techniques, design, rendering, and energy systems as well as opportunities to develop skills necessary for employment in the professional field of architecture. Transfer programs are articulated with California State Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo, the University of California at Berkeley, and New School of Architecture and Design.

B.A. IN INTERIOR DESIGN (INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE)
The Interior Architecture concentration provides students with the technical, creative, and critical thinking skills needed to enter the Interior Design profession. Courses encompass the study of design history and theory, aesthetics, graphics, lighting, space planning, computer-aided design, interior construction, and professional practice. The curriculum provides comprehensive coverage in all the major areas of training, including concept development, design, communication, presentation, construction, and professional services.
