AIA Central Valley’s EDI Committee is dedicated to the advancement of equity, diversity and inclusion in our profession. We believe that developing a profession that respects and values different experiences, background, beliefs, and ideas will propel architecture into the future and best position us to succeed. As part of our efforts, we wish to create a brave, safe space where people feel comfortable to share experiences and learn from others. We call this space Dear EDI.
Dear EDI is a space to share questions or topics related to equity, diversity and inclusion. Ask Dear EDI general questions, share specific situations you’ve encountered, or ask for further explanation on topics or educational items and the EDI committee will respond. Our hope is that we can help provide a space for participants to voice their concerns and ideas. We also hope to discover new areas of EDI that we were not aware of to expand our collective awareness and to share it with the AIACV membership.
Guidelines: In order to promote equity, diversity and inclusiveness we need to be mindful of the following. Be aware the Dear EDI committee is not made up of licensed medical professionals, life coaches or human resources personnel.
