Preserved and adapted by HRGA and Roger Hume Development in 2023, the Hyatt House Midtown retains its existing brick facade, gabled roof, and brick chimneys. The building was designed by Coffman, Salsbury & Stafford and built in 1928 as a meeting hall for the Order of the Eastern Star, a Masonic women’s organization – and was listed in the National Register of Historic Places as an example of Romanesque Revival architecture, and a rare example of a local building devoted to a women’s organization.
