Architecture Matters: Architectural Pavilions

July 30 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join our hosts for another edition of Arch Matters, for a discussion centered around design and construction of architectural pavilions.

Join hosts Elizabeth Hawks McBride, AIA, Sugra Panvelwala, AIA, Kris Barkley, AIA, and Saxon Sigerson, AIA, for another edition of Arch Matters on July 30 at 5:30PM. Our evening of discussion will be centered around the topic of Architectural Pavilions!

In architecture, the word “pavilon” evokes a wide variety of imagery, from small, simple park shelters to grand structures build for the World’s Fair. Free-standing and typicallly temporary in nature, pavilions are a playground for design professionals allowing for experiementation with structure, use of materials, flexibility, and connection to the environment.

At our next Arch Matters, we will discuss the purpose, scale, visual impact of pavilions and more. We will have a short presentation followed by an open discussion led by Mark Roddy, AIA.
