The future of California’s schools is Zero Net Energy (ZNE) – and the future is now! Join California State Architect, Ida Clair, AIA, as we take a look at the ambitious goals for public buildings and the strategies (and code mandates) that will take us there. We’ll see two case studies, in varied California climate zones, that are designed to achieve Zero Net Energy: the new Floyd Farms project for Sacramento City Unified School District by HMC Architects, as well as Lionakis-designed Claire Lilienthal Elementary School, San Francisco Unified School District’s first ZNE project.
To learn more about the Floyd Farms project, check out the video tour from the 2020 AIA Film Challenge. https://aiafilmchallenge.org/2020-film-challenge/?contest=videodetail&video_id=2722
