Hands-on Architecture for Kids: Learn, Build, Sketch & Color for Kids

OVERVIEW: A family -friendly activity designed to help children aged 12 and under learn about architecture through children’s books on architecture and hands-on activities including building, sketching, and coloring. The event will have three stations:
– A book reading and hands-on building activity from Architecture by the Book, a program designed to help students learn about architecture through books featuring a variety of renowned and diverse architects.
– A drawing activity where children will learn about the elements of design and create pencil sketches of a building with guidance from architects.
– A coloring station featuring AIACV’s Architecture Coloring Book, highlighting local architectural projects and the architects who designed them.
Activities are led by architect volunteers and are designed for kids up to middle-school age, who must come with a parent or guardian. All materials, a light snack, and water will be provided.
