State Legislation and Local Ordinances are providing opportunities for our communities to address alternatives to typical single family housing models known as “Missing Middle Housing”. This type of housing bridges the gap between single family houses and apartment buildings, providing more diverse and affordable options for walkable communities.
The recently completed “Chicken Ranch” in midtown Sacramento is a demonstrable example of how homeowners can develop their own properties to provide more housing for our community. This small midtown lot with a modest 977 square foot home has added (2) 484 square foot ADU’s with a shared courtyard.
The Owner Bekki Bolthouse and the Architect Mark Roddy, FAIA will be on site to answer questions and talk about the project!
Please allow time to find street parking. We’ll meet at 1401 Tomato Alley, a few steps east of the corner of 14th Street and Tomato Alley.
