OVERVIEW: As the world moves towards a more sustainable future, the roles of electrification and decarbonization have become pivotal in reshaping our energy landscape. This event, Powering a Sustainable Future, will delve into the strategies and innovations driving the transition to cleaner energy, focusing on how these efforts can reduce carbon emissions and create a more resilient energy system.
Our panel features experts from Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) and Sacramento State’s Energy and Sustainability department, who will share their insights on the latest developments in renewable energy, electrification of transportation and buildings, and the policies and technologies supporting decarbonization efforts. The panel discussion will be followed by a tour of the Ernest E. Tschannen Science Complex.
Attendees will gain valuable perspectives on the challenges and opportunities in achieving a carbon-neutral future, the role of public utilities in driving change, and how academic institutions are contributing to energy sustainability. This discussion is essential for anyone interested in the intersection of energy innovation, environmental stewardship, and community impact.
Join us as we explore how electrification and decarbonization can power a sustainable future for all.
