We are excited to share that Matthew Harris, AIA from Lionakis will be filling the role of NCARB Licensing Advisor (previously filled by Amanda Green, AIA, also from AIA Central Valley).
About the Position:
Just as it sounds the NCARB Architect Licensing Advisor serves as a main resource to those who have questions about AXP, Licensure, as well as California specific requirements. The Northern, and Southern California State Licensing Advisors work with individual AIA chapters to provide information, answer questions, and give presentations about the licensure process. Additionally the 2 Architecture Licensing Advisors function as liaisons between NCARB, the California Architects Board, and the AIA California Council.About Matthew:
My goal to become an architect started sometime around middle school. I was always interested in creating things, and solving problems. As it turns out, Architecture is a great fit! I went on to Graduate from NewSchool of Architecture and Design in 2015. Since then I have been working in the Lionakis Education studio focusing mostly on K-12 facilities. I completed my AXP, and AREs through a combination of 4.0 and 5.0 tests, and lastly finished the CSE in late 2017. Having recently been through the process, I feel I am in a position to give back to the EP community, and pay it forward like those before me. I have always approached licensure with a “If they can do it, then I can do it, and if I can do it, you can do it” type of attitude. It’s not an easy process, but at the end it is extremely rewarding, and I am here to help in what ways I can: [email protected]
