by Brian Sehnert, AIA, Chapter President
We hope you have seen the Chapter notices and invitation for the Newly Licensed Celebration, scheduled for next Thursday, August 2nd, from 6-8 pm. You may think this event is just for Emerging Professionals, or Newly Licensed Architects, but it’s actually intended for ALL members, including licensed architects and our allied members. To that end, I’m using my Presidential authority to change the event name to “Architectural Practice Celebration Dinner.”
Here is the full story:
There are over 40 newly licensed architects from our region that have passed the Architectural Registration Exams in the last 3 years. What a notable achievement!!! These individuals have been invited as our guests to this festive celebration to commemorate and acknowledge their success. Beyond that, we want to pay tribute to the distinguished profession that we have all chosen to commit ourselves to.
We hope you will be a part of this event and join us in giving a rousing welcome from our AIA community to the newly licensed; introduce them to future mentors and colleagues; and raise a glass to the profession.
The evening will take place at the beautiful and historic Firehouse Restaurant, in the Courtyard. We will share an excellent dinner, celebratory activities, and conversation with peers–all arranged to make for a memorable Sacramento evening.
For those firms whose newly licensed are being recognized, we urge firm leadership to support them by attending. Consider sponsoring a table and also inviting your staff to be a part of the revelry. Noting the importance of this milestone, we intend to continue this event every other year going forward.
