New Date! Rebellious Architecture (Architecture Matters Design Forum Series)

Join hosts Kris Barkley, AIA, Arturo Levenfeld, AIA, Saxon Sigerson, AIA, and Amanda Green, AIA for an evening of discussion centered around architecture as a rebellious act and the architects that bring these projects forward.

Throughout time architects have challenged the status quo through the design of structures that strive to have a higher purpose. Our evening dialogue will explore several works created for rebellious reasons. Whether created to address social or economic issues or as a means to advance new concepts, these architects raise several questions: Does the design accomplish its objective? Does a rebellious approach impede functionality or does it function at a higher level than other buildings ? If something is rebellious for its time does that wear well over the length of its existence?

We will have a presentation followed by an open discussion led by Kris Barkley, AIA.

Date: Tuesday, December 4, 2018
Time: 5:30 pm check-in + dinner, 6:00 – 8:00 pm discussion
