How will YOU experience architecture?

  • Admire stunning photography at the Architectura Obscura Exhibition and reception hosted at the new DPR Construction Sacramento office.

  • Enjoy a California Groundbreakers Q&A with Kristopher Barkley, AIA and Nikky Mohanna–how do these two innovators views compare and contrast on architecture, design, urban planning and the future of live/work/mixed use living in California?

  • Enjoy a coffee/food sampling and tour with the architect, owner, and designers of Chocolate Fish Coffee | Land Park, during “Mug of Design.”

  • Get fit as you ride along the Tour d’architecture Bike Ride with curated stops at new projects.

  • Celebrate an evening of design excellence at the Design Awards Celebration, to be held at E49 Foundation’s new headquarters in Del Paso–and tour the Emerging Professional Design Competition “Unity House” Tiny Home!

  • Enjoy an evening of inspiring conversation with Olson Kundig’s Blair Payson, AIA.

  • Take a self-guided tour, at your own pace, and check out new, local architecture during Design|Access: Open Projects Tour (register to get a free map of the locations).

  • Bring your kids (or borrow a kid) and draw the Crocker Art Museum during the Kid’s Draw Architecture event.

  • Grab your walking shoes and tour affordable housing in historic districts with architectural historian William Burg.

  • Watch the film “Face of a Nation: What Happened to the World’s Fair?” and meet and chat with Director Mina Chow, FAIA at The Verge Center for the Arts.

  • Hear about the Crocker’s Architecture and “Designing the Modern Museum” with UC Davis Professor Simon Sadler.

  • Get the scoop on designing and building an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU), and tour the new Plus1House website with panelists Bruce Monighan, AIA, City of Sacramento Urban Design Manager, and architect Gennifer Munoz, AIA.

  • Learn about “Action Through Architecture” and it’s impact on Homeless Housing with Maria Ogrydziak, AIA highlighting her remarkable Paul’s Place project in Davis.

  • Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Robert T. Matsui U.S. Courthouse & Kennedy Learning Center–and view student charrette exhibitions and take a tour with Nacht & Lewis.

Whatever “experience” you chose, we look forward to seeing you! This event would not be possible without the support of our generous sponsors.
