Over the past year, in spite of the pandemic, the AIACV has maintained a full slate of virtual events, programs and activities allowing for both member and public engagement. In large part these efforts are made possible by the contributions of our Sustaining Partners and Allied Members. I’d like to extend appreciation to, and acknowledgement of, these generous companies and firms who support the Chapters’ ongoing efforts. While this group receives recognition at every Chapter event, this is a note of sincere thanks for your ongoing collaboration—we appreciate you!
This past year we held nearly 50 programs, including 30 continuing education programs, our 10th annual Experience Architecture public outreach event, Design Awards and Emerging Professional Design Competitions, and our second Empowering / Equity event, to name just a few. Our committees have been energized by going virtual, allowing members from outside of Sacramento to participate in greater numbers, and we have also been able to provide consistent and valuable updates for our healthcare architects from HCAI (formally OSHPD) and our school architects from DSA.
Now, as the pandemic draws down, we’ve reached out to our current Sustaining Partners requesting their continued support. And as we leverage our recent virtual experience, we also seek to expand our in-person outreach to greater facilitate member and community engagement with the Board’s new “AIA Meets Here” initiative. As Board President Ida Clair noted in a prior NOTES newsletter, “Whether in-person or virtual, we seek to demonstrate that the identity of AIACV resides in its members. Our plan is to bring AIACV in-person programming to our member firms and to signature spaces created by our members in the AIA Central Valley. This gives us an opportunity to expand our outreach and greater facilitate member and community engagement to better serve our membership as a whole; including those members who live and work outside of the Sacramento metropolitan area.”
With this new initiative comes the opportunity for additional exposure benefitting our current Sustainable Partners and Allied Members and we continue to seek new sponsors as the Chapter broadens our outreach to better serve our chapter member counties of Alpine, Amador, Butte, Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Lassen, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, Shasta, Sierra, Sutter, Tehama, Yolo, and Yuba.
Please take a look at our current list of sponsors listed below, and if there is a company or firm that you think should be contacted with this opportunity, please reach out to Executive Director, Kimberly Anderson, Hon. AIA CA: [email protected] or call (916) 444-3658.
